MENA Tour - Els Club - Malaysia

Sun, storms and cricket scores

Hello, it’s been a while since my last post but these past two weeks I have been playing on the MENA Tour in Malaysia. Like in Egypt we have played back to back weeks on the same course which is a little strange but it is just nice to be back playing again after a 2 month hiatus.

Been a random two weeks away, played some lovely golf at times, but unfortunately my Driver and general off the tee play has not been up to scratch and cost me dearly. The course was demanding off the tee and was either fairway, water or out of bounds and not much in between. I have just recently put in a new driver and 3 wood and it’s safe to say it needs a little more tournament time. Week 1 was two steady rounds of 71 and a tee shot blow out in the final round for a Tied 19th finish. The second week was a solid opening 71 again and a learning experience in the second round and unfortunately a missed cut by 1. Played the latter stages of my front nine in a huge storm with thunder and lightening and should have decided to come off the course myself as found it very unsafe on the highest point of the course but decided to wait for the klaxon and those three holes ultimately cost me another solid round and week after completing the front nine in -1 after the restart.

Frustrating but a learning experience as always and have used this morning to work on a few things in preparation for next week in Abu Dhabi where I will be playing two back to back weeks on the Challenge Tour which I’m very much looking forward too.

Sorry it’s not more positive news, but feel there is some good golf close by, just need to let it come out.

Have a great weekend, Eid Mubarak to my Muslim friends and will keep you posted how it goes in Abu Dhabi next week

All the best Luke
