Asian Q school - Middle of nowhere - Grand Prix Golf Club
26 December 2023
Hello everyone…
Wanted to take this opportunity to wish you and your families a very Merry Christmas wherever you are in the world! Hope you have had a fantastic day, ate too much and just relaxed . I got back from Thailand last week but after a very long and interesting trip home via Mumbai we have had a very sick little boy to contend with so haven’t really had the mental capacity to put anything down on paper with getting ready for the big fella to arrive down the chimney.
Still processing how the week went in Thailand… as from a process side of things I was really happy and to be honest from a performance and execution point of view I was pretty happy too. Unfortunately a bogey up the last hole on the final day lead me to miss qualifying for final stage by one shot. Not going to lie, haven’t been in the best of moods since as it feels like that has been the case for most of this year, solid but no real end product. Apart from rounds 2 & 3 where I teed off last and had to deal with some cauliflower greens, I stuck to my game plan well but unfortunately just really struggled in rounds 2 & 3 to get the ball in the hole and take advantage of some really solid golf. Rounds of 68(-3), 73(+2), 70(-1) 66(-5) for a total of -7 wasn’t quite good enough to get the job done but should leave me with some events to play in the Asian Development Tour next year, but not what I was after to be honest.
Wanted to thank Paul for caddying for me in Thailand, was great to have him on the bag and as the groupings panned was a huge help in keeping me sane as otherwise I wouldn’t have spoken to anyone for Three days based on my pairings. Going to take some time to debrief with my family, coach and myself to the best plan of action going forward but will for sure be taking some time off over this Christmas period to see Hugo enjoy all the festivities as he has just learnt who Santa is and think he is his new best friend this month.
Hope you all have a great time with friends and family and will keep you posted what the new year has in store for events.
Take care, be Merry and Happy New Year to you all
Cheers. Luke
