Time to fly…

Hello again! I’m writing this on my way back to the UK. I will be honest I wasn’t too sure exactly when this day would come but finally I’m heading back to see family and friends and what looks like a great summer schedule of golf events. I really can’t wait…

The only downside is that at present I don’t have Lauren with me, but hopefully the travel situation will improve from the UAE so fingers crossed that will improve sooner, rather than later.

After a disappointing final round in event 1 of the Egypt swing, I had a very quick turnaround for event 2 which happened only two days later. Unfortunately my back wasn’t too good for the practice round and day 1 of the second event and the best I could shoot in round 1 was a frustrating 76(+4). When I’m not moving well, I visit the left side of the course and unfortunately for some home owners I was closer to their property than the golf course on round 1.

With Covid precautions, there was no physiotherapist on site but one of the lads had a massage gun( which I now have ordered for back home) that worked wonders on my back and loosened me up after a few hours using it. Round 2 was back to normal and played some lovely golf to post 68(-4) but unfortunately fell 1 short of the 40 man cut line.

Was a shame to miss the cut but after a year or so out, saw plenty of good stuff and also some things that need my attention ahead of my first event of the EuroPro at the start of June. Looking forward to getting started and also seeing some friendly faces on my return to the UK.

Will keep you posted how the next event goes and hope you all have a good week.

Until next time…
