4 warm up day…

So this morning the rain kept falling like it had done for the past 48 hours. After starting my first warm up we were told there was an hour delay, after another warm up it went to two hours and then another two warm ups it ended up being a 3.5 hours delay. The course was basically under water and they had to take out two par 5’s and make them into a par three and short par four. Despite the faffing around I started off beautifully, I had a four foot putt on my 7th hole to go 4 under for the day and had not missed a shot. Unfortunately the putt horseshoed and then I will be honest I have no idea what happened after that. I dropped three shots in three holes from pretty simple positions and then a poor club choice on a par three on the back nine lead to a triple bogey and a shocking 72 (+3).

My playing partners were not having such a good day either and it lead to the referee following us round for 15 holes trying to push us on to speed up! Not sure why but constant following really unsettled my game and lost all my rhythm. Absolutely pissed off and thoroughly disappointed that again I let something out of my control determine my performance and will need a good 36 holes to have a chance of qualifying to the next stage.

The game is not far away and I hit the ball so much better today than yesterday but the game of golf slapped me in the face again by returning a far worse score. Will get stuck in and see what I can do for the final 36 holes. Just really hoping the weather is kind as I might run out of holes if we get much more rain
