European Tour - KLM - The Dutch

Not quite dialed in!

Hello everyone, hope this finds you well! Quite a bit has happened since my last post! I got married (whoop), went on the most amazing Honeymoon with Mrs Joy (punching) and got a late invite into the KLM Dutch Open (Nice)!

It is safe to say that I feel like a very happy chappy at the moment, not because I’m writing my blog on a Friday (which is never normally great) but on the 31st of August I did get to marry my best mate and girl of my dreams so not playing my best golf this week seems a little easier to take.

I was pleasantly surprised on the morning of my honeymoon to Santorini that I received the invite for the KLM. Was a bit late mind, but was lucky that I had just enough time after getting back on Sunday to hop on a plane Monday to Amsterdam to play in the event. On arriving to the course it was clear that the game was a bit rusty and as it transpired that was the general theme for the week. Overall I was happy with parts of my performance but with all the wedding planning and honeymooning I just hadn’t really played that much competitive golf to get my game sharp and it did show this week.

Rounds of 72,73 have left me a touch deflated as there was some good stuff mixed in with some less than desirable play, but I feel it is pretty close and won’t take much to get back on track. Many thanks to the MENA Tour and the KLM Open for the chance to play in such a great event, as always the course was in superb condition and ran seamlessly.

I have a good run of events coming up over the next four weeks which I am very much looking forward to. I do have a considerable amount of travel coming up though, with a flight back to London tonight, then a trip to Austria tomorrow morning for Q school and then back to Abu Dhabi for a night and then onto South Africa for Sunshine Tour, I think it’s safe to say the air miles will be going up this month.

I will keep you updated on how the weeks pan out and hope you enjoy following along for the remainder of the year.

Have a great weekend and happy golfing

Luke
