Road trip to… everywhere!

Not the trip I was hoping for…

So the past few weeks I have been on quite the road trip… Last week I traveled all the way up to Montrose in Scotland for the 4th EuroPro event of the year. To say that the drive took a while would be an understatement but was awesome to play some links golf again.

Unfortunately since coming back to the UK and cracking two driver heads before starting the season, I have not been able to find a driver that works for me on the course and the past month has been a proper battle off the tee. In Montrose I shot two rounds of 69 to post -4 for two rounds to miss the cut by 1 shot. I then traveled down to Blackpool for Open Qualifying at St Anne’s links and missed out qualifying after hitting two out of bounds on a par 5 and making an 8 after getting off to a great start being two under through 4 holes.

I then traveled down to Worcester to play the EuroPro event at the Vale and shot level par for two rounds to miss the cut after spending pretty much the whole week in the trees/ rough. Hitting 14% of fairways for the past two weeks with driver is not going to get it done at this level and with this week off coming up, I have to find a driver solution I can take to the course and keep it on the course as it has been pretty demoralizing of late.

The rest of the game feels pretty good to be fair, so addressing the driver issue will be a great start back to some better golf and results I’m sure. Not been the return to golf that I had hoped for and I know some better results are close, just got a few adjustments to make and stay patient with these things.

Huge shoutout to the guys at Hendy for helping me with a Kia Sportage this year. With the amount of time I have spent in the car for these past few weeks it has been great to be driving something so comfortable and safe. Really appreciate the support.

Looking forward to this week off competition so I can get back on track. I’m next in action in a weeks time down in Clevedon, on the EuroPro. So will keep you all posted how it goes.

Have a great weekend and let’s hope the boys can get the job done in Rome tomorrow night. Come on England…

It’s coming home…
